Annual Resource Roundup provides service and program updates

54

The 6th Annual Resource Roundup is going Hawaiian. The Roundup, the best-attended human services event in Pinal County, is an agency-to-agency forum designed to provide updates on the variety of services available to clients and program participants.

Registration for participants and exhibitors has officially begun (with a May 28 deadline) for the event, which will be held Friday, June 4, at the Casa Grande Holiday Inn, 777 N. Pinal Ave, from 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

For the past five years the Resource Roundup planning committee, representing Pinal County agencies, has organized Roundup, an annual event that brings together members of the human services community, municipal agencies and the faith-based community to network and learn about the most recent advances in programming and services for the low-income and vulnerable populations in Pinal County. The Resource Roundup also offers an opportunity for line staff to share their unique perspectives with those who set policy and develop programming.

This year’s Roundup will provide information on the following categories:

· Utility Services
· Housing Services
· Consumer Credit Counseling
· Senior Services
· Maximizing Your Volunteer Workforce
· Behavioral Health Services
· Children’s Services

Event Registration. The registration fee is $10 per person and includes workshops, breakfast, lunch, afternoon snacks and conference material.

Exhibitors’ table registration. The committee will make every attempt to accommodate requests for exhibitor’s tables. Space for tables is limited to the first 30 exhibitors, and tables will be set up in the lobby and lounge. Although there is no charge for a table, those staffing the table must register for the event and pay the registration fee.

Great emphasis is placed on the exhibits, as they have become one of the Roundup’s best features, giving participants the opportunity to learn the most about resources in Pinal County. Agency staff must be available at your table during registration, morning and afternoon breaks, and lunch to answer questions and provide printed materials. Additional set-up instructions will be emailed prior to the event.

Payment information. Payment is due at the time of registration with no exceptions. The deadline for registrations is Friday, May 28. Late registration may not be honored.

“The wonderful attendance of the Resource Roundup for the past five years is proof to the planning committee that the event is a valuable resource to help direct line staff improve service provision as evidenced by the conference evaluations and the contacts made through networking with other participants at the event,” said Mary Lou Rosales, CAHRA Executive Director and planning committee chair.

“An average of 300 individuals participated in previous Roundups,” Rosales said. “We expect this year’s event will be as informative.”
