Art for the Heart, a festival to benefit the American Heart Association, raised more than $800 for the cause.

The event hosted at Maricopa High School had 23 different local and student artists exhibiting their work.

Representatives of the City of Maricopa came to offer grants and other resources to aspiring Maricopa artists.

The event hosted Maricopa Unified School District student-art exhibits, featuring more than 100 pieces from 50 different students across all MUSD schools.

The event, hosted in conjunction with the SkillsUSA Community Service Project, also featured food trucks and booths.

It was Art for the Heart’s fifth event.

Art for the Heart strives to build a greater appreciation for fine arts and crafts in Maricopa.
