Books here, books there and books everywhere. That was the scene in the multi-purpose room at Santa Rosa Elementary School on Saturday morning as patrons shopped for a “good read” at the Friends of the Maricopa Community Library semi-annual used book sale.

Children’s books sold out almost immediately after the doors opened at 8 a.m. Other popular picks were romance novels and contemporary best sellers.

General literary categories offered also included reference, non-fiction and western selections. The Friends had CDs, videos, records and record albums for sale at $1 each. Books went for the bargain price of $1 per grocery bag.
