Update: Body identified, PCSO still investigating

A woman found dead near Stanfield has been identified as 37-year-old Nicole Rivas of Phoenix.

She was reported missing to the Phoenix Police Department on June 6. According to Pinal County Sheriff’s Office spokesman Mark Clark, family members identified her this morning.

He said PCSO is continuing to investigate the cause of death. Rivas was found in the desert north of Stanfield Road and Highway 84 on Wednesday morning.

According to the initial report, a farm worker discovered the body late in the evening and reported it to the property owner. After checking for himself the next morning, the property owner called PCSO.
