Maricopa Police Department responded to a domestic violence call with shots fired in Glennwilde just after 2:30 a.m. May 6.

Officers found a woman crying for help as her boyfriend, George Sopi, pinned her to the floor.

Officers also found a shotgun and shell casings in the driveway where Sopi had shot into his girlfriend’s car, according to body-worn camera footage recently obtained by InMaricopa.

Cops lodged a slew of felony charges against Sopi and booked him into the Pinal County jail. Those charges included assault with intent to injure, recklessly handling a firearm and resisting arrest. Sopi accepted an unspecified plea deal, according to the West Pinal Justice Court.

Court records show he had a dozen previous charges in Maricopa for assault, drugs and fighting, among other things.
