The Maricopa Police Department in conjunction with The Maricopa Fire Department will host a Car Seat Safety Program April 25.

The group of certified technicians completed a course through the National Child Passenger Safety Certification Training and partnered with National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) with the common goal to save lives, prevent injuries, reduce traffic costs through education, research, safety standards and enforcement.

The certified technicians are made up of police officers, fire personnel and civilian employees committed to educate caregivers of proper use of car seats, booster seats, and seat belts. When used correctly, the risk of hospitalization, injury, and death for children is greatly reduced.

The first event will take place at the Maricopa Fire Department Station #575 at 45695 W. Edison from 8 a.m. to noon. Please call the Maricopa Police Department at 520-316-6898 Monday- Friday 7 a.m.-5 p.m. to schedule an appointment for April 25.

Expect between 20-30 minutes for your appointment with your technician. Bring your vehicle and car seat manual. A limited amount of appointments will be available.
