City Council special session to finalize consulting contract for City Complex site analysis

Meeting in special session the Maricopa City Council will discuss and potentially take action on a consulting contract for location analysis on a site for the proposed City Complex, including setting a time and date for sealed final best offers for all sites. The meeting agenda follows:

5.0 Agenda Items

Items on the agenda are open for citizen input. Please fill out a card and present it to the City Clerk before the meeting begins. The mayor will call upon you for your comments.

5.1 HDR Studio Concepts. The City Council shall discuss and possibly take action on approving the First Amendment to Professional Services Agreement for Planning Services with HDR Studio Concepts for professional services for location analysis for site selection of the proposed government center. If the First Amendment is approved, this will require the City Council to authorize budgetary adjustment in an amount not to exceed $36,500 from contingency line item (100-41940-350) into land line item (100-41940-720). Discussion & Action.

5.2 City Hall Site Selection. The City Council shall discuss and possibly take action on determining a date and time in which to accept sealed final best offers for all city hall sites as determined in the August 25, 2006 City Council Special Meeting. Discussion & Action.

5.3 Security Guard Services. The City Council shall discuss and possibly take action on approval of the purchase of security guard services from ProEm for the purposes of directing traffic through the Santa Cruz Wash on Honeycutt during construction of the bypass road. This service was required due to flood emergencies and is necessary for resident safety. ProEm was recommended by Trafficade, which the city already has a service relationship with. Total cost is estimated to be $12,480.30. Because this is an emergency service request, the City Council will be asked to waive the sealed bid requirement. Discussion & Action.

5.4 Ordinance 06-12. An Ordinance of the City of Maricopa, Arizona adding Section 8-466 to the “Tax Code of the City of Maricopa, Arizona” by establishing an exemption from Privilege Taxes for sod farms located within the City of Maricopa as of August 30, 2006, and declaring an emergency. Discussion and Action.

5.5 Ordinance 06-13. An Ordinance of the City of Maricopa, Arizona adding Section 8-661 to the “Tax Code of the City of Maricopa, Arizona” by establishing an exemption from the Use Tax for sod farms located within the City of Maricopa as of August 30, 2006, and declaring an emergency. Discussion and Action.

5.6 City Hall Electrical Panels. The City Council shall discuss and possibly take action on approval of the purchase of electrical panels in the amount of $28,097.35 for the new interim City Hall site. The purchase is necessary in replacing the panels due to theft. Discussion & Action.
