Community center says aloha to another year

Seniors, prepare to don your most brightly-patterned button-down and take a trip to the islands without leaving town.

Maricopa will say “aloha” to another year at Maricopa Community Center next week.

The combined senior and community center will celebrate its second anniversary July 26 with a two-hour Hawaiian-themed luau that features a potluck lunch and prizes.

The party starts at 11:30 a.m. and is free to attend.

The center will present an award for the best Hawaiian outfit and dole out raffle tickets to the tune of one for each dish brought to the potluck — so get to cooking.
