A Maricopa man faces felony charges after he and his wife drew weapons on each other when she accused him of having a gay affair.

Police arrested Eric Walker, 63, on domestic violence charges of aggravated assault and disorderly conduct Dec. 31 and booked him into the Pinal County Jail.

Maricopa police said the confrontation over an illicit relationship escalated after Walker charged his wife in their kitchen.

Police said she felt threatened and pulled out a steak knife and pointed it at Walker, telling him to back off.

He then told her, “I can fix this,” went into their bedroom and loaded his firearm, according to the police report. At the same time, the wife ran to the bedroom to pull her gun from under the bed.

She rose from the bed to find Walker pointing a gun at her head, police said. He told his wife he had taken her weapon.

She fled the home in her car and called the cops.

Walker also left the home and police learned he fled the city. He hung up the phone on the officers who told him to return to Maricopa. He was later arrested, although the police report does not specify how cops found him.

He faces up to five and a half years in prison, a fine of $2,500 and probation.
