Pinal County Sheriff’s deputies are searching for a man who allegedly posed as a stranded motorist and sexually assaulted a Good Samaritan at gunpoint.
The victim reported that approximately 6 a.m. Friday in the area of North Arabian Road and West Barnes Road, southwest of the city, she noticed a vehicle stopped in the roadway. She said she approached the vehicle to ask if the man needed help when he pulled a gun, ordered her out of her vehicle and sexually assaulted her.
After sexual assaulting the victim, the suspect returned to his vehicle and fled the area.
The victim reported she could hear a vehicle driving on Barnes Road, so investigators have reason to believe someone may have seen the two vehicles in the area.
The victim described the suspect as dark-skinned, either Hispanic or Native American, with shoulder-length, dark hair. The suspect was wearing a long-sleeved, flannel shirt and jeans. The vehicle was described as a white, older model, small truck, possibly an early ‘90s Chevrolet S10.
