A woman was arrested in her home Thursday after swallowing a fentanyl pill in front of cops, according to the Maricopa Police Department.
Police arrested 36-year-old Samantha Mora after her mother reported she was getting high on narcotics in the home, according to a probable cause statement obtained by InMaricopa.
Cops responded to a domestic disturbance between Mora and her mother at their home on West Carey Drive in Rancho El Dorado around 3:45 p.m.
Mora’s mother gave police permission to search the home. Cops said they found drug paraphernalia in a trash can in Mora’s bedroom.
Police asked Mora if she had any drugs, according to the probable cause statement. She allegedly reached in the left side of her bra and pulled out seven fentanyl pills and foil paraphernalia. Cops said Mora swallowed one fentanyl pill and handed over the other pills and foil.
Mora was evaluated at a hospital and later booked into the Pinal County jail on four felony charges of possessing narcotics and drug paraphernalia, tampering with evidence and using illegal drugs.
She faces seven years in prison.
