Council to hold first 2009 meeting tonight

The Maricopa City Council will hold their first meeting of 2009 this Tuesday with a focus on money.

The council will have the chance to approve or deny a long list of expenditures that include: $240,000 from the general fund contingency for the construction of a park restroom and maintenance building at Pacana Park, $719,515 from Library Development Impact Fees to complete the construction and furnishing of the new library and a contract award of up to $316,696 to do renovations on the old library.

In addition to these items, the council will look at possibly rezoning several parcels of land within city limits and approving signage for the Sonoran Creek Marketplace.
