Patti Coutre resigned in September after nearly 10 years on the board to take a job with the district.

The resignation of Patti Coutre from the Maricopa Unified School District Governing Board will not be resolved through the upcoming election.

Three seats are up for grabs in this year’s cycle, with four people seeking to fill them. The terms on the ballot run through 2024.

But Coutre’s term ends 2022.

“Therefore, her resignation does not affect the Nov. 3, 2020, election,” stated Mark Krumrey, senior administrative assistant in the Pinal County School Superintendent’s Office.

Anyone interested in being appointed to serve the next two years will be able to apply when the county office formally publishes a statement it is accepting applications.
