The sixth annual Daddy Daughter Dance is March 26 at 4 p.m. at Maricopa Wells Middle School.

Shine up your dancing shoes. The sixth annual Daddy Daughter Dance is scheduled for March 26 from 4 to 7 p.m. at Maricopa Wells Middle School.

The event is a fund-raiser for DSPA Gems to help students with dance tuition. The dance is open to the community.

“It’s a chance for dads to have a special time with their little girls,” said Ceylan Gentilella, owner of Desert Sun Performing Arts.

It is an evening of dinner, dancing and desserts. The dinner has an Italian theme, with pizza from Papa Murphy’s and pasta by chef Mark Gentilella. Desserts will be provided by the DSPA mothers.

Gentilella said there will be keepsake photos and “goofy outtakes.” The music is DJ’d.

Tickets are $30 for Dad and one daughter and $10 for each additional daughter. Tickets can be purchased online or at the studio.

The Daddy Daughter Dance had to be rescheduled from an earlier date after an alleged bit of online sabotage by an angry ex-dance mom forced DSPA to change its website and go into damage control. Gentilella reorganized and found a time and place for the dance.

The website is now DSPADance.com. The studio is at 19756 N. John Wayne Parkway.

DSPA teaches an array of dance forms, from lyrical and jazz to hip hop and tap, to boys and girls. Call 520-483-8915 or email [email protected].
