Democrats champion the middle class

Republicans John McCain and Jon Kyl are fighters! They just fought to block unemployment benefits. They intentionally left tens of thousands of folks who have been out of work in Arizona, Pinal County, Maricopa and your street without a way to pay for food, life-sustaining utilities or housing. Republicans blocked help to our families, friends and neighbors who have lost their jobs. That’s why I support Rodney Glassman for U.S. Senator.

What do John McCain and Jon Kyl find worthy of fighting for? Well — they’re fighting hard for a tax break for the richest 2 percent, for one thing. Am I the only one who finds something wrong with this? Not one Republican voted to extend help to laid-off Arizona workers struggling with
losing their homes, their medical care and often their sense of self-worth — not one!

Our Republican representatives won’t advocate for ordinary people. Guess if you can’t write a check for the campaign you don’t deserve a voice. That’s why I support Rodney Glassman for the U.S. Senate.

Not one Arizona Republican fought to keep insurance companies from taking advantage of premium payers. The Democrats did! Thank a Democrat when your insurance can’t cancel your policy when they think you or your loved one’s illness is going to be too expensive. The Republicans fought reform that will help you, the insured. Republicans represented the insurance companies, not us or the sick. That’s why I vote for Democrats.

Did you know that John McCain and Jon Kyl refused to talk to city of Maricopa representatives regarding the need for an overpass at the State Highway 347 railroad crossing when they went to Washington last year?

They consider it an ‘earmark.’ Are you going to continue to vote these men to ‘represent’ us, or are you willing to give the ball to someone who actually will? (See “Glassman touts need for grade separation”)

I urge you to vote for a Democrat. We’ll fight for funding education, tax relief for the middle class and solar energy jobs. The other party is the one who keeps standing in the way!
