DSPA dancers win honors at Kids Artistic Review competition

Desert Sun Performing Arts (DSPA) won multiple awards at the Kids Artistic Review (KAR) competition in November. 

According to KAR’s website, “KAR is one of America’s first established dance competitions and have quickly become one of America’s largest and most recognized.”   

DSPA’s dancers won multiple awards including:

  • Maizie Baker won Top 1st for her solo to “Harmony,” 1st place for “Amazing Maizie,” and 9th Runner Up Miss Petite Dance.
  • Brianna Lostritto won 1st for her solo “Ever After.”
  • Maizie Baker and Brianna Lostrito duet won 1st place for “The Call”.
  • Maizie Baker, Brianna Lostrito, and Victoria Ramirez won 1st place for “Sunshine Lollipops and Rainbows” for their trio.
  • Catherine Amos and Jillian Miller won 1st place for their duet “Gift of a Friend.”
  • Jillian Miller also won 1st place for her solo “Walkin on Sunshine”
  • Sierra Bragonier,  Morgan Mundell, Angelina Lostritto,  and Sophia Aguilar group dance won Top 1st & Judges Award for “Future Superstars”
  • Grace  Becking won 1st place for “Today was a Fairytale”
  • Hayley Montgomery won Top 1st for “Catch Me”
  • Madison Scheidt won 1st place for  “Fly to your Heart.”
  • Natasha Nechvatal won 1st place for “Pink Panther.”

DSPA’s top winners were:
Sammie Perrry won Top 1st  for “Rock Your Soul” and 5th overall for the competition.  She was the recipient of a KAR scholarship.

Sydney Parise won Top 1st place for “Inch.” She was 3rd overall for the competition and was invited to New York.

DSPA is incredibly proud of these dancers and is looking forward to upcoming competitions throughout the year.
 
Desert Sun Performing Arts, located in Maricopa on the corner of John Wayne Parkway and Garvey Ave., believes in a positive atmosphere for students and their parents. The school takes the responsibility of educating and guiding children very seriously. The lessons learned at dancing school go beyond the technique and steps they master.

DSPA features Rising Stars program for ages 2-5, Ballet, Jazz, Tap, Modern, Lyrical, Musical Theatre, Jazz Funk, and Inspire, a unique program for dance lovers with special needs.
