Food Network star to help judge Salsa Festival

The Maricopa Salsa Festival, presented by inmaricopa.com, is getting a familiar face from Food Network TV. Ingrid Hoffmann, host of the show “Simply Delicioso” will be a celebrity judge in the salsa, guacamole and bean dip categories.

“The exposure we’ll receive from Ms. Hoffman and Food Network is greatly appreciated and we’re going to show her that the best salsa festival in America is right here in Maricopa,” said Marty McDonald, city community services director, in a statement.

Hoffmann is known for offering a practical approach to making Latin-inspired dishes. In addition to “Simply Delicioso,” she hosts a Spanish-language cooking and lifestyle show, “Delicioso” on Galavision/Univision and has written a cookbook, “Simply Delicioso: A Collection of Everyday Recipes with a Latin Twist.”

The Salsa Festival will be 5 to 9 p.m. April 25 at Pacana Park.
