The Maricopa Unified School District’s governing board will hold a regularly scheduled meeting Wednesday at the district office administration building at 6 p.m.

In addition to the approval of donations, expense vouchers and travel, the board will hear a financial report for December from Director of Business Services Aron Rausch, who will also update the governing board on capital project construction.

Technology specialist Shannan White will present board members with information regarding the use of the new Web calendar.

The district Calendar Committee is seeking input from parents, students, community members and employees on an adoption of a multi-year school calendar.  Two surveys have been posted on the District’s website for stakeholders; one for employees and a second one for parents, students and community members. All responses need to be submitted by Friday, Jan. 28. For more information, call the district office at 520-568-5100.

On Wednesday board members will be discussing board operating protocol for possible approval and adoption. The protocol includes board and superintendent communications and each party’s expectations of same, meetings, preparation for meetings and after meeting agreements, as well as site visits and emergency information arrangements.

Superintendent Jeff Kleck will receive direction as to maintaining the current board meeting agenda structure as is or altering it.

A time for the governing board to work on a district strategic plan will also be determined at Wednesday’s meeting.

Board members will be asked to approve open enrollment capacity for the various MUSD schools and an online services provider for students taking special education, credit retrieval, core/elective and vocational classes. Funding would be at a 60/40 split with the online provider receiving 60 percent of the ADE funding and the district receiving the remaining 40 percent.
