Poll respondents: No plans to attend job fair

Of 234 poll respondents, 71 percent said they would not attend the Harrah’s Ak-Chin UltraStar multi-tainment center job fair Oct. 3-4.

Twenty-one percent said they did plan to go; 9 percent responded “maybe.”

Hundreds of Maricopans and Ak-Chin Community members turned out for the event, held at the Ak-Chin Environmental Protection Department. 

The 162,000-square-foot entertainment center, scheduled to open Nov. 15, will feature a movie theater, laser tag, bowling alley, casual dining and an outdoor amphitheater.

The restaurants were hiring servers, bartenders, line cooks, bus persons, hosts and a sous chef. 

Other positions to be filled included shift managers and vault cashiers.
