Did you have to skip your late-morning cup of coffee yesterday?
Starbucks on North John Wayne Parkway closed around 11:30 a.m. yesterday morning after “something happened in the drive-thru,” someone at the store reported.
Maricopa Police Department and Maricopa Fire and Medical Department responded to an emergency call before noon. A customer suffered a medical episode in the drive-thru.
“It was a medical call,” public safety spokesperson Monica Williams said.
The driver was transported to a local hospital as a precaution, she said.
A food delivery worker at the restaurant said “the baristas were all crying and they closed the store.”
Starbucks has since reopened.
