Iconic Casa Grande restaurant coming to Maricopa

Dell’s Pizza, a Casa Grande institution for 58 years, will open a scaled-back version in Maricopa in early 2023, a store manager said.

The Maricopa shop will be directly behind Rili B’s Taco Shop on John Wayne Parkway, and serve only pizza and wings, according to Casa Grande general manager Chad Sarnowski.

“It is going to be mostly takeout, not sit down,” Sarnowski said. “I’m not sure how many tables we’ll even have.”

Sarnowski said plans are for an early 2023 opening but there is not yet a specific date.

The Maricopa shop will different owners than the Casa Grande restaurant. Sarnowski said it would be “like a franchise.” He declined to name the owners of the Maricopa shop.

This will be the first Dell’s outside of Casa Grande. Sarnowski said it is a test of the viability of the concept in other areas.

Dell’s, at 1654 N. Pinal Ave.in Casa Grande, was founded in 1964. It is a full-service bar and restaurant that claims on its website to specialize in “food, spirits, fun, sports and trivia.”

The Casa Grande menu includes homemade pizza, wings, appetizers, salads, sandwiches, burgers and sliders.
