Draft of increases in school-facilities fees available

329

The Maricopa Unified School District is providing a draft copy of the newly revised community use of school facilities regulations for public review and comment.

In the revised regulations most facility rental fees are scheduled to increase beginning Jan.1. The purpose of the increase is to assure that the district covers all costs on rentals: direct costs, indirect costs and life cycle costs.

For example, class III fees, which includes nonprofit organizations such as churches, will increase from $10 per day to $14 for standard classroom use; from $50 per day to $140 for a Maricopa High School lecture hall; from $50 per day to $105 for use of a primary gym; and from $10 per day to $14 per day for use of a middle school playing field.

The public is invited to comment on the draft regulations. Comment should be sent to Aron Rausch, director of business services by email at [email protected], or by phone at 520-568-5100, ext.1014. Rausch also will take comments from interested people 6 p.m. Dec. 3 in the MUSD governing board room at 44150 W. Maricopa-Casa Grande Highway

Draft copies also are available at the reception desk of the district office.

The draft regulations will be discussed at the next governing board meeting 6 p.m. Dec. 11.
