A man wanted in connection with a suspected Maricopa kidnapping and sexual assault in January was arrested Friday in Chandler by Maricopa Police detectives.
Nathan Whipple, 28, was booked into Pinal County Detention Center, according to officers.
On Jan. 23, 2022, a woman reported being sexually assaulted by a man matching Whipple’s description in Maricopa. Subsequent DNA testing identified Whipple as the suspect, police said.
In 2014, Whipple had a prior arrest involving a sexual offense in Tempe, according to law-enforcement records.
