Councilman Bridger Kimball pleaded guilty Feb. 12 to a criminal traffic violation of being under the influence while in physical control of a vehicle and a civil traffic violation of unsafe lane use.

He served a day in the Pinal County Jail March 2 and also was sentenced to a DUI counseling program and session with MADD – Mother’s Against Drunk Driving – according to Casa Grande Justice Court records.

His fines, including an incarceration fee, probation assessment and surcharges, totaled $1,961, which he paid in full.

On Friday, Kimball said he is working with the Maricopa Unified School District to do a program for students about the “ramifications of actions.”

“I have been talking with Ember (MUSD Deputy Superintendent Ember Conley), and I have plans at some upcoming event to speak about the dangers of drinking and driving and the legal ramifications.”

Kimball was cited by a Maricopa police officer Dec. 15 while driving on Cobblestone Farms Drive about 2:50 a.m.

According to Maricopa Police Department records, Officer Kevin Mellor saw him “make an unsafe lane change … almost striking the concrete center raised median.”
