On Tuesday, January 10, 2006, at approximately 7:30 p.m. the Pinal County Narcotic Task Force executed a narcotic search warrant at a residence located at 183 South Kelly Lane in Maricopa. Bryan David Reid (dob: 07-29-1982) and Russell Clifford Corby (dob: 02-24-1981) were both at the residence when the search warrant was executed.

A search of the residence revealed four marijuana plants, which were approximately four and a half feet tall, marijuana growing equipment, numerous weapons, cultivated dry marijuana and items of drug paraphernalia.

Both suspects were taken into custody and charged with Marijuana Cultivation, Possession of Marijuana, and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. They were transported to the Pinal County Sheriff’s Office Adult Detention Center located in Florence, where they were booked for the above charges.

On December 27, 2005, during the investigation of another matter, local detectives became aware that David Byron Manley (dob: 08/12/1969), an escapee from Missouri, was in the area. A methamphetamine cook, he was considered armed and dangerous. After confirming his presence in the Hidden Valley area southwest of Maricopa, the U.S. Marshals Office was contacted in order to obtain a picture of the suspect.

With positive identification, detectives as well as U.S. marshals went to 1302 South Oak Road and arrested the subject. Manley did have a loaded, sawed off shotgun in the trailer with him, but he did not have the opportunity to obtain it during the arrest. Numerous items of drug paraphernalia as well as a $2,100 stolen generator were confiscated from the residence.

Manley will be charged on possession of weapons, drug paraphernalia and stolen property. The generator was returned to its owners, WAT Adventures in Scottsdale. Manley was turned over to the U.S. Marshals, who took him into custody.
