Legacy Traditional opens new gymnasium with musical

Annie certainly has something to sing about. And that would be the opening of the Legacy Traditional School’s new campus gymnasium on June 2, which will play host to the theatrical production, Annie Jr.

Legacy Traditional students take the stage at 6 p.m. to present the heartwarming musical, which tells the story of a little orphan girl who searches for her real parents, and eventually finds a family of her own. Annie Jr. will run for three nights beginning June 2 and ending June 5. The cast consists of more than 60 K-9 students.

Opening night of Annie Jr. will begin with a dinner prepared by 5-star executive chef Craig Story. Tickets for the dinner theater must be purchased by May 21. Proceeds from the dinner theater will go towards the sets, props and equipment for the performance.

Dinner theater menu:

Dinner will begin with warm bread served with olive oil and a splash of balsamic vinegar topping with fresh cracked peppercorn and grated parmesan.
Salad: Fresh field greens and cranberry, mandarin orange and feta cheese salad, served with your choice of lite vinegarette or cucumber-ranch dressing.
Main course: Chicken Marcela cooked to perfection. Paired with Yukon mashed potatoes, fresh green beans, and baby carrots and finished with a Marcela sauce.
Dessert: Chocolate ganache cake topped with a glazed-pear whipped topping and spun sugar served on a plate of cream glaze.
Beverages: strawberry lemonade, ice water with lemon slice.

All food prepared by chef Craig Story, Legacy food service director Jodi Ivy, kitchen manager Shannon Robertson, and support staff Marcy Vaughn.
