Let ‘free dump day’ set you free

Got junk? Now is your chance to get rid of it. On Saturday, Maricopans will get one last opportunity this year to get rid of unwanted waste, trash or other junk during a “Free Dump Day.”

The Nov. 14 event is sponsored by the city of Maricopa, Pinal County Board of Supervisors, Recycling Association of Maricopa and Waste Management.

The Butterfield Station Landfill and The Recycling Association of Maricopa are the two closest free-dump locations for Maricopa residents.

Butterfield Station Landfill, at 40404 S. 99th Ave., is accepting unwanted furniture, bulk trash and other household waste, from 8 a.m. to noon. No commercial loads will be accepted.

The Recycling Association of Maricopa, at 46250 W. McDavid Road, is accepting appliances, electronics, computers, ink cartridges, cell phones, scrap metal, car batteries and usable furniture, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. No liquid waste or regular trash will be accepted.
