Local hospital names new medical director

Exceptional Healthcare appointed Dr. Paul Gilbert as the new medical director at Exceptional Community Hospital in Maricopa.

Gilbert has a background in acute care medicine, and company officials said he consistently delivered outstanding results with patients and has earned the trust and respect of both colleagues and patients.  

Gilbert received several honors, including the National Patient Safety Award, the Arizona Innovation Challenge and the Venture Ready Award from the Arizona Chamber of Commerce.  

Gilbert and his family live in Phoenix.  

Hospital company representatives said his experience in the metro area’s larger hospital systems gives him a unique perspective and will bring a higher level of healthcare to the community.
