A man is accused of closing a car window on his partner’s arm, trapping it, and then pulling her by reversing the vehicle on Tuesday night, police said.

Aaron P. Sodies, 36, was arrested and booked into Pinal County Jail on suspicion of aggravated assault (domestic violence), endangerment (domestic violence) and disorderly conduct (domestic violence).

At 9:21 p.m., Maricopa Police responded to a home on West Prado Street on a report of a disturbance.

When officers arrived at the Rancho Mirage home, they contacted a woman who stated that her partner, Sodies, became upset because he believed she was cheating on him.

According to the probable-cause statement, Sodies believed the woman was cheating with a mutual friend after he found them in a room together.  It was reported by police that Sodies, the woman, and the friend had been drinking since about 6 p.m.

According to Maricopa Police, the woman stated  Sodies  attempted to leave the home in her vehicle. When she attempted to get the car keys from Sodies, he reportedly rolled up the car window, trapping her arm. He backed the vehicle down the driveway and into the street before she was able to free her arm.

Officers observed a bruise on the woman’s left arm.

Sodies told officers he tried to leave the home and the woman was grabbing him through the driver’s side window. Sodies denied rolling up the window up. Sodies stated that the bruise on the woman’s arm was from Christmas decorations falling on her.

Police viewed the home’s security-camera footage and observed it to be consistent with the woman’s description of the incident.
