A man died after drowning in a backyard pool this afternoon.

Just after 4:30 p.m., fire and medical crews responded to the 42300 block of Chisholm Drive in Rancho El Dorado on a report of a drowning, according to public safety spokesperson Monica Williams.

A man whose name and age were not immediately released was transported to a local hospital where he was pronounced dead.

The man did not live at the home, Williams said.
