The man killed in a head-on crash on Monday morning has been identified by Pinal County Sheriff’s Office.

Manuel Sanchez-Navarrette, 23, the driver of one of two vehicles involved in a crash near West Louis Johnson Drive and North White and Parker Road, was pronounced dead at the scene, according to Lauren Reimer, a spokesperson for Pinal County Sheriff’s Office.

“The investigation is still active,” Reimer said. “However, at this point we can say it appears Vehicle 1 was traveling southbound on White and Parker when it crossed the centerline, crashing head-on with Vehicle 2 (driven by Sanchez-Navarrette).”

One person was transported by air to a hospital and a third injured person was transported by ground ambulance. Both the driver of Vehicle 1, and passenger of Vehicle 2 are in stable condition, according to Reimer. Neither were identified.

Ak-Chin Fire Department responded to the 10 a.m. crash with mutual aid from Maricopa Fire and Medical, according to those agencies.

No driver impairment is suspected at this time, according to Reimer.

Pinal County Vehicular Crimes Task Force is investigating the collision.
