Maricopa Community Alliance Against Substance Abuse (CAASA) is holding a raffle to raise funds for their youth drug and alcohol prevention programs. Last year’s winner won $740. This year CAASA aims to sell enough tickets so the winter will receive $1,400 just in time for Christmas.

Maricopa CAASA currently provides drug and alcohol prevention Life Skills programs to fifth grade students, one-on-one mentorship to 140 youth in Maricopa, after-school mentorship groups, Youth Leadership opportunities through a local SADD Chapter, and facilitates The Be Awesome Youth Coalition. CAASA operates through different grants and contracts, but additional funding is needed for services and costs not covered through grants.

Each ticket is $5 or 3 for $10. Cash, check and debit are accepted. Just call CAASA at 520-582-6138 or email Priscilla at [email protected]. CAASA staff and board will be selling tickets until Nov. 17, the drawing will be held on Nov. 18, and the check will be delivered on Nov. 21.
