The Census Countdown Drive comes to Maricopa on Wednesday.

The countywide series of 11 events began Friday in Superior and Kearny, with respective Pinal County supervisors on hand at the mobile outreach van. The Maricopa stop will be from noon to 2 p.m. at Bashas’, 21044 N. John Wayne Parkway.

Census staff will be on hand to answer questions and assist residents completing the census. Supervisor Anthony Smith and his administrator Marlene Perce will distribute Pinal County/Census-branded face coverings.

“Our voter van’s presence means folk can also register to vote,” county spokesman James Daniels said. “We will have a mobile hotspot on site for those who need internet access.”

Completed questionnaires will be entered into a drawing for a chance to win a gift card. Promotional gifts will be handed out.

Monsoon Coffee will be on site offering free cups of coffee to anyone who completes their census at that time.

The close date for census data is Oct. 31 in order to be submitted by the end of the year.
