Maricopa Chamber of Commerce offers scholarships

Maricopa residents who are graduating from high school have another opportunity to fund their college aspirations.

The Maricopa Chamber of Commerce will award at least of three scholarships this year for $1,000 each.

Applications must be received by April 25.

The Chamber raised money for the scholarships at its annual Awards Banquet in January with a live auction. The Chamber also applied for the City of Maricopa Scholarship Match grant program.

A scholarship committee, composed of the members of the Maricopa Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors, Community Impact Committee and representatives from the membership at large, was formed and they will determine who will receive the scholarship awards.

Any graduating senior who resides in Maricopa and will graduate from an accredited high school or program within the city limits of Maricopa with a 2.75 or higher is eligible.

Applications are available at the Maricopa Chamber of Commerce office at 44480 W. Honeycutt Road, Suite 106, or at Maricopa High School. Applicants will need to provide a completed application, high school transcript, proof of acceptance from a post secondary institution, two letters of recommendation and an essay, answering the question, “Who is a great leader in history or business and how have they inspired you?”
