The summer heat has broken, and Calvary Chapel Maricopa is moving outdoors for a Sunday to enjoy it.

The ministry’s annual Church in the Park is Nov. 6 at Copper Sky Regional Park, 44345 Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd.

Church service is 10-11:30 a.m. with Pastor Roger Thompson. Afterward, fellowship begins with a provided lunch. Bounce houses and games will keep children engaged. End time will be based on crowd, according to a church spokesperson.

Church officials emphasize this is not a fundraiser but an opportunity for the congregation and friends of members to enjoy time together outdoors on a pleasant day at the park.

Calvary Chapel does this every fall, consistent with its belief that worship should be inspirational, according to the church. It also places importance on music in worship.

Calvary Chapel is a non-denominational fellowship of believers. It has followed a call to reach Maricopa through the gospel. Its passion, according to the church, is to help Christians in their understanding of the scriptures and encourage their spiritual growth.

Regular Sunday services are 8:30 a.m. and 10:30 a.m. at the church, 44301 W. Maricopa-Casa Grande Hwy., Suite 8, in Stage Stop Marketplace
