Maricopa and Pinal County leaders welcomed the Obama bus tour on Saturday to rally local voter support for Democratic candidates.
Maricopa City Councilman Marvin Brown, Pinal County District 3 Supervisor David Snider and Maricopa Democratic Chairman Ken Edwards were all on hand to provide their support and remarks.
The caravan made a one-hour stop in the Fry’s/Wells Fargo parking lot and was greeted by about 60 people who turned out for the rally.
“It was a very energetic event,” said Henry Wade, one of the event organizers.
In addition to listening to the speeches, those in attendance were able to purchase Obama t-shirts and other election items.
Maricopa Democrats will be gathering at Arena Sports Grill on election night at 7 p.m. to monitor results as they come in.
“Everyone is welcome to come out, but space is limited,” Wade said.
