Maricopa police seeking public’s help in attempted robbery case

The Maricopa Police Department is asking the public’s help in identifying a man who attempted to rob a Circle K convenience store early Friday morning.

The man entered the store at 19864 N. John Wayne Parkway at 1:16 a.m. dressed in black, according to a department media advisory.  The man showed a silver gun, which the store clerk described as a “toy,” and demanded money from the cash register.

The advisory states the clerk refused, pressed a silent alarm and called 911.

The man left the store on foot heading south, according to the advisory. He did not take any merchandise or money.
