Candidate debate announced for Jan. 28

Maricopa residents are encouraged to come out and learn more about those running for city council and mayor at the 2012 Candidate Debate.

Sponsored by InMaricopa.com, Maricopa Women in Business and the Maricopa Monitor, this event will feature the four city council candidates and both of the mayoral candidates up for election March 13.

The event will be 1-3 p.m. on Jan. 28 in the Maricopa Unified School District Governing Board meeting room, 44150 W. Maricopa-Casa Grande Highway.

The event is free to the public. Additionally, residents are encouraged to send in questions for the candidates before the event, which will be used by the debate's moderators in selecting some of the questions for the event.

“We are proud to part of an effort to provide a forum for candidates to speak freely, and better yet, for residents to have the chance to ask questions of candidates as they figure out who will best serve them as mayor and on the council,” InMaricopa associate editor Christia Gibbons said.
