One local teen puts the pressure on for local businesses.

At just 18 years old, Maricopa native and high school student Andy Benedek owns his own small business — Luguensi Pressure Washing.

The young entrepreneur said when he turned 16, he was itching to get into the workforce. But landing a restaurant job was harder than he anticipated.

In pure Gen Z fashion, Benedek got the idea to clean pavement from “satisfying” power washing videos on YouTube. He borrowed his dad’s power washing equipment and got to work.

“It started as a side hustle, going off the back of my little truck, to having a full trailer setup,” Benedek said.

His business has been fully registered and insured since.

Benedek estimates to have completed over 300 jobs around Maricopa and the Valley, as close as Maricopa’s Water and Ice and as far as businesses in Scottsdale and Goodyear. He sprays both residential and commercial properties.

The Maricopa High School senior said after he walks in his cap and gown this spring, he plans to continue his business while attending community college before transferring to Arizona State University for a business degree.

“I feel blessed,” Benedek said.
