Student Musical Festival Saturday

Students, parents and community members are invited to the first Maricopa Unified School District Music Festival 3 to 6 p.m. Saturday.

The event, featuring students from the secondary music programs at Desert Wind Middle School, Maricopa Wells Middle School and Maricopa High School, will be at the Performing Arts Center on the Maricopa High School campus.

3 p.m.: Maricopa High School Chamber Orchestra
3:45 p.m.: Maricopa Wells Middle School Band
4:30 p.m.: Desert Wind Middle School Band
5:15 p.m.: Maricopa High School Concert Band

Each group will present several selections and remain on stage for a live clinic; an opportunity for parents to see the educational process within the MUSD music programs.

***ADVERTISEMENT***Brian Murphy, director of the Mesa Community College Community Orchestra and director of bands at Horizon Learning Center in Chandler, is the clinician for the inaugural event.
