August most expensive home is $1M

In August, the slow housing market continued to show signs of life with 199 homes sold in Maricopa and surrounding rural areas for a total sales volume of $25,960,073.

That was a difference of $71,959 from a list volume of $25,888,114.

Of sold houses, the highest-priced was a 5,340-square-foot, home on Hidden Valley Road behind a gate with four-bedroom, five-and-a-half bathrooms selling for $1,050,000. It was on the market for 517 days.

On the other end of the spectrum, the lowest-priced house was a 1,453-square-foot home selling for $52,000 on Hayden Drive after 97 days on the market.

The average list price for homes in August was $130,051 and the average selling price was $130,453.

On average, homes sold in August were listed for 61 days, one day less than the average for July.
