Public invited to meet MUSD superintendent finalists

After enlisting the services of McPherson & Jacobson, LLC of Omaha, Neb. to conduct the search for a new superintendent, Maricopa Unified School District has announced the four finalists.

They are: Jim Bogner, assistant superintendent in Creighton School District No. 14, Phoenix; Steve Chestnut, superintendent of Selah (Washington) School District; Ember Conley, deputy superintendent MUSD; and Keith Rittel, deputy superintendent, Clover Park School District, Lakewood, Wash.

The public is invited to a community reception and coffee 7:30-9 a.m. for each candidate: Bogner, April 24; Conley, April 26; Rittel, April 27; and Chestnut, April 30. The reception will be in the governing board room of the district’s administrative building, 44150 W. Maricopa-Casa Grande Highway.

“We are excited to have four excellent candidates,” Governing Board President Scott Bartle said. “The interviews will be a great opportunity for the board and MUSD’s many constituents to get to know the candidates, and for the candidates to learn more about Maricopa, our school district and the great people who constitute the MUSD family.”
