MUSD teacher gains national certification

Third-grade MUSD teacher Margaret Bryant will be among those honored Feb. 11 for becoming a National Board Certified Teacher.

“We are extremely proud of Ms. Bryant and have been so lucky to have her on our team here at MUSD,” said Deputy Superintendent Ember Conley. “This is great accomplishment and one that is well deserved for the hard work and dedication she puts in to her work and her students.”

Bryant, a third-grade teacher at Santa Cruz Elementary School, will join other board-certified teachers and Master Teachers during the Third annual Celebration of Accomplished Teaching 6 to 9:30 p.m. at the Renaissance Phoenix Downtown.

***ADVERTISEMENT***Bryant has been teaching since 2001 and came to the Maricopa Unified School District in 2009. She also taught second and fifith grades, in addition to serving on the site leadership committee and providing staff development regarding Thinking Maps.

She received her bachelor’s degree in history from Arizona State University and her master’s in education from Northern Arizona University. She is an Arizona native and involved in the Arizona Education Association and Emerald Chariot Literacy Foundation.
