MWIB hosting 4th annual scholarship fashion show

The Maricopa Women in Business (MWIB) will be hosting their 4th annual fashion show on Saturday, Sept. 19, to raise money for scholarships.

Maricopa Women in Business is a non-profit group whose mission is to support the Maricopa community through group volunteerism and community service. One way the organization does so is by awarding scholarships to Maricopa female high school seniors who want to continue their education.

“Our original plan was to award a $500 scholarship each year. We have now grown our award to three scholarships, totaling almost $3,000, to Maricopa High School seniors each year,” said Michelle Mazzola, MWIB president.

The fashion show is the group’s largest fundraiser each year. “The ticket price includes the fashion show, luncheon and the chance to win many great raffle prizes. It’s a great family event,” said Mazzola.

The Province Ballroom, 20942 N. Province Way, will be the site of this year’s show, which will start at noon and lasts until 3 p.m.

Ticket prices are $15 for children ages 3-12 or $25 for adults.

Tickets are available by calling Mazzola at 480-239-5684, or they can be purchased at Courtny Tyler’s State Farm office located at 44480 W. Honeycutt Rd., Suite 103.

The MWIB group is also asking local businesses to donate raffle prizes. If interested, contact Mazzola. All monies raised from the raffle go directly to the scholarship fund.
