New-home permits stay flat in March

The city of Maricopa issued a total of 14 permits to build new single-family houses in March. That number is on par with the 13 permits the city issued in February and 90 fewer than the city issued in March 2008.

Thus far this fiscal year, which runs from July to June, builders have pulled a total of 287 permits for the construction of homes, an average of 32 permits a month.

Last fiscal year, the city issued an average of 133 new-home permits per month.
