The first Maricopa New Residents' Reception will be 8 to 10 a.m. April 5 at Maricopa City Hall.

The reception is a way to introduce new residents to city services and businesses and for people to get acquainted, according to press release.

Speakers at the event will include city personnel, including representatives from the police and fire departments, as well as representatives from Global Water and Electric District No. 3.

“It’s a great way to meet new people while we also introduce Maricopa to new residents and vice versa,” said Councilwoman Peg Chapados, the event producer.

The event offers local businesses and nonprofit organizations the opportunity to meet potential consumers or volunteers. Businesses and groups are asked to submit up to three promotional pieces, including business cards, to be distributed in gift bags at the event.

New and old residents are invited.
