PCSO seeking ID on dead male from train

2007

The Pinal County Sheriff’s Office and the Maricopa County Medical Examiner’s Office are seeking the public’s help identifying a person who may have fallen or jumped off a train.

Employees from Union Pacific Railroad contacted PCSO Feb. 16 around 10:49 a.m. to report the discovery of an injured man lying on the ground beside the train tracks near Jimmie Kerr Boulevard and Casa Verde Road near Casa Grande.

When deputies arrived, the man was lying on the ground but attempting to stand up. He had substantial facial trauma to the right side of his face, according to the report. He was air-lifted to St. Joseph’s Hospital in Phoenix.

He was pronounced deceased Feb. 21, according to the Medical Examiner’s Office.

Union Pacific Police officers confirmed they inspected the train in Tucson and found no “unauthorized passengers.” They believe the person may have boarded or attempted to board the train while in Marana or Picacho areas.
