The Pinal County Sheriff’s Office is seeking a suspect in conjunction with a July 4 shooting that killed one man and wounded a woman.

Witnesses to the shooting in the Winkelman area identified the suspect as Oscar Valencia, 40, of Tucson. The suspect was known to the female victim, authorities said.

Valencia remains at-large and is considered armed and dangerous.

According to PCSO spokesperson Lauren Reimer, deputies responded to a 911 call around 9:40 p.m. on Monday for shots fired at a home in the 3000 block of Aravaipa Drive.

Upon arriving at the scene, deputies found two victims – a 39-year-old male who was dead from a gunshot wound and a 38-year-old female who sustained a superficial gunshot wound.

Valencia fled the scene southbound on SR 77 in a silver 2014 Jeep Patriot with Arizona license plate DDA 1AXA, according to PCSO. He was last seen wearing all black clothing and a black hat.

PCSO said its investigation is ongoing, and they are asking anyone with information to call 911 or Silent Witness at 480-WITNESS (480-948-6377) if they see Valencia or the vehicle.
