Police: Man arrested in beating of wife

A Maricopa man is in Pinal County Jail and charged with domestic violence assault of his wife and disorderly conduct.

Maricopa police arrested 42-year-old Jesus J. Zanabria on March 15 at his home on North Smith Drive after a report of a verbal argument and domestic disturbance.

Zanabria’s wife told police he at first punched her in the face, knocking her down. Police said while she was down he continued to pummel her in the back of the head. She told police when her child entered the room, she tried to escape and Zanabria then pushed her into the bathroom sink, causing a small laceration to her upper lip and nose.

Police said she sustained injuries to both her knees during the attack.
