Police respond to physical dispute at Mexican restaurant

Maricopa police officers responded around 5:30 p.m. Thursday to a physical dispute between two women inside a Mexican restaurant on Maricopa-Casa Grande Highway just east of State Route 347.

Southwest Ambulance transported one woman by her request to a hospital. Police said the injuries were not serious.  

Sgt. Mary Turner said the dispute was spurred by a disagreement “about another person.”

One woman was an employee at the restaurant, Turner said. The other woman lived in a house next to the establishment. The house and the restaurant are in the 44600 block of Maricopa-Casa Grande Highway.  

The woman from the house came to the restaurant to confront the worker, Turner said.

At the scene, Turner said police hadn’t yet determined if either woman would be charged with a crime.
